Champion System Named Official Apparel Sponsor of Race2Rebuild
Champion System Triathlete Matty Reed Joins Race2Rebuild Team
for New York City Triathlon

New York, June 17, 2014—Champion System, a worldwide leader in custom technical apparel, announced its official partnership as the technical apparel partner to Race2Rebuild, the endurance charity racing organization founded by athletes after Hurricane Sandy to help families come home. Two-time U.S. Champion and U.S. Olympian Triathlete Matty Reed, a longtime Champion System athlete, will race with Race2Rebuild at the New York City Triathlon on August 3, 2014.

Champion System has created a unique design for Race2Rebuild’s running, cycling and triathlon apparel. The apparel will be worn by the teams and athletes racing to raise awareness and funds for the organization.

Reed, along with several age group athletes, will race and raise funds to support Race2Rebuild’s disaster relief projects with national nonprofit Rebuilding Together. Following the race, the athletes will have the opportunity to volunteer with the building process and meet the family they support.

“I believe that we can bring families home by racing,” said Reed. “I’m proud to be on the Race2Rebuild team and will race hard in support of the thousands of families still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.” He and his family plan to join the other Race2Rebuild athletes and volunteer to help rebuild the family’s home and will make subsequent trips back to the area later in the year.

“We’re very grateful to Matty for joining the Race2Rebuild team and racing hard in support of our mission,” said Race2Rebuild president Sarah Hartmann. “We love racing in Champion System and are tremendously honored to partner with them to rebuild communities, homes and lives through racing. It truly makes this a family event having Matty and Champion System as a part of our efforts.”

“Our company is proud to be a part of Race2Rebuild. Our US Corporate office is located in Brooklyn and we are part of the New York region community. To combine our passion for endurance sports with an amazing and productive organization like Race2Rebuild is a great thing and we are excited to partner with them,” said Champion System Co-Founder Scott Kaylin. “We are proud to have Matty racing for this cause at the New York City Triathlon and taking part in bringing a family back home after Hurricane Sandy’s devastation.”

Reed is racing as part of Race2Rebuild’s “TEAM 1” program, where athletes use their own race entries, raise a minimum of $1000 and receive benefits such as Champion System apparel, training programs, a coached open water swim and more.
